NEXT GEMS: Alejandro Garnacho, Manchester United's Most Exciting Young Superstar

After another brilliant pre-season showing from the young Argentine, its set to be another big season for Alejandro Garnacho.

The youngster had his 'breakout' season last year but fans are calling for him to have a real impact for Ten Hag's side; probably as first choice behind Rashford on the left.

The 19-year-old Madrid-born winger started off his young career within the Getafe ranks before moving to Atletico Madrid's academy at the age of 11 back in 2015.

He showed great promise early on in the Spanish capital & even saw Atletico move their U18 Assistant coach to the Atleti Youth side, solely to nurture his talents.

"They wanted me to train the best young player at the club. That was my mission, and at the same time my biggest challenge," said Jesus Adolfo Marcos.

“Alejandro was a street boy, from a Getafe neighborhood, and we immediately decided to transfer him to the academy hotel, because he was not a good student. He was smarter than the rest of the kids, but he became troublesome…he was a rascal and he created trouble inside the hotel”,

"He has that thing that characterises special players: they can be rebellious." A trait in many young stars in the making but as seen with former United talents such as Ravel Morrison whom many claim was the most gifted player in decades at United, talent only gets you so far.

With Ten Hag's strict disciplinarian approach, Garnacho will benefit greatly alongside big personalities such as club captain Bruno Fernandes & born winners: Casemiro & Raphael Varane.

After five years at Club Atlético de Madrid Juvenil, he made the move to Manchester for £420,000 aged just 16.

The young talent quickly adapted to English football, helping United win their first FA Youth Cup in 11 years; the team that included Jesse Lingard, Paul Pogba & the before-mentioned Ravel Morrison.

The Argentine shone as he guided United to the FA Youth Cup.

The exciting winger scored seven in six appearances in the Cup, including two in the final as United beat Forest 3-1 at Old Trafford in-front of 67,000 people.

In conclusion to a fantastic campaign, Garnacho was awarded the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award in what would be his final season in the youth ranks.

Despite being Madrid-born, the winger qualifies for Argentina through his Argentine-born Mother. He represented Spain's U18's but made the switch to Argentina at the age of 18.

Garnacho has already made two appearances for the Argentina national team & was actually called up to the senior squad before making an appearance for Manchester United.

He made 31 appearances for the first team last season, scoring five goals and recording six assists; but majority of these were coming on impacting from the bench.

Many hope he can start to establish himself as a regular starter in Ten Hag's side in the coming seasons.

United managed to tie-down the prospect to a long-term deal running until 2028 back in April as many top clubs were circling to sign the Argentine on a pre-contract agreement next January.

“When I joined this incredible club, I dreamt of achieving my debut, playing at Old Trafford, scoring my first goal and winning trophies with this badge on my chest,” Garnacho stated after signing his new deal.

“The manager and his coaching staff have helped me to improve in every way, and with their support, I am developing each day to help the team to be successful. I am relishing the future and can’t wait to create more special memories with this group, in front of our amazing supporters.”

Expectations are high for United's 'starboy' & the fanbase are off their seats every time he collects the ball and drives at defenders.

He is the future of Manchester but can he also be the present?
